State-dependent error bound for digital quantum simulation of driven systems

چکیده

Digital quantum simulation is a promising application of computers where dynamics simulated by using gate operations. Many techniques for decomposing time-evolution operator into simulatable operations have been proposed, whereas these methods cause some errors. To evaluate errors, we derive lower bound overlap between true and digital at the final time. Our result enables us to guarantee how obtained close unknown dynamics. We also extend our formalism error evaluation on noisy computers.

Deterministic error model for quantum computer simulation

Quantum computers QCs must implement quantum error correcting codes QECCs to protect their logical qubits from errors, and modeling the effectiveness of QECCs on QCs is an important problem for evaluating the QC architecture. The previously developed Monte Carlo MC error models may take days or weeks of execution to produce an accurate result due to their random sampling approach. We present an...

Constructing Quantum Error-Correcting Codes for p-State Systems from Classical Error-Correcting Codes∗

Quantum error-correcting codes have attracted much attention. Among many research articles, the most general and systematic construction is the so called stabilizer code construction [6] or additive code construction [2], which constructs a quantum error-correcting code as an eigenspace of an Abelian subgroup S of the error group. Thereafter Calderbank et al. [3] proposed a construction of S fr...

Analytically solvable driven time-dependent two-level quantum systems.

Analytical solutions to the time-dependent Schrödinger equation describing a driven two-level system are invaluable to many areas of physics, but they are also extremely rare. Here, we present a simple algorithm that generates an unlimited number of exact analytical solutions. We show that a general single-axis driving term and its corresponding evolution operator are determined by a single rea...

A Precise Error Bound for Quantum Phase Estimation

Quantum phase estimation is one of the key algorithms in the field of quantum computing, but up until now, only approximate expressions have been derived for the probability of error. We revisit these derivations, and find that by ensuring symmetry in the error definitions, an exact formula can be found. This new approach may also have value in solving other related problems in quantum computin...

Execution-Driven Simulation of Error Recovery Techniques for Multicomputers

DERT (Distributed Error Recovery Testbed) is a testbed for simulation and performance evaluation of several classes of application-transparent distributed error recovery schemes. DERT is built on top of an event-driven, message-passing, object-oriented, multithreaded simulation kernel. Actual compiled distributed applications are instrumented for data collection and executed on the simulated mu...
